The History of Kenya

The history in Kenya goes back for many years, because Kenya is called “the cradle of mankind”. 
The first time in history in Kenya is mentioned in 1000 AD. At the east coast their was a Arabic culture and there was a trade from Kenya till China even at that time. 
 




1895 British East African Protectorate (British-Eastafrica) was founded.
1920 British Eastafrica was declared to be a British colony called Kenya.
1905 British veterans got plots in the Highlands of Kenya to settle over there. To protect the Africans Harry Thuku founded the first Kenyan political organisation in 1919 called East African Association. But shortly after that it was forbidden by the colonial masters.
1928 Kenya African Union (KAU) was founded and 1931 Jomo Kenyatta became the president of the KAU, too.

After getting free again Kenyatta was founding the Kenya African National Union (KANU).
The first direct elections for Africans to the Legislative Council took place in 1957 and the KANU was winning and…
