My first visit at ELCK Olesirwa
Evangelist Evans, who is responsible for ELCK Teachers, told me at on the 16th of July 2023 he is going to preach at ELCK Olesirwa. Since a long time, I had planned to visit Olesirwa myself, but I did not know how to reach there. Therefore, we decided to go there together with Evan’s wife, his two daughters, my forster child Jepkoech and I. We used two and a half hours to reach there.

When the first children came, I started to play some games with them. For the children, it was the very first time to play games during Sunday school. The children really enjoyed the games.

After almost all children arrived, we started to sing some songs in Swahili and English.

After that, I taught them the Story of the Lost sheep.

When the service started, I sang some songs in Swahili with the entire church.

Then Evangelist Evans started with the service. There were 17 children, 4 teenagers and 18 adults.

Evans started with the worship.

Then he led through the liturgy.

After that, he preached about Matthew 13.

Then he started with the intercession prayers.

Finally, he blessed the church members.

After the service, Evans and I met with the leadership of the church. Because Olesirwa is very far from Nakuru, I am not able to visit Olesirwa on a weekly basis. Therefore, we agreed, that I will come from the 6th to the 10th of December 2023 for a Vocation Bible School Program for children and teenagers. I am looking forward to this opportunity to work together with the church at Olesirwa.

At the end, we were invited for lunch at the place of one church elder. Then we left and went home.
